The music on this CD is taken from "Chesterfield Shows" by the Glenn Miller Civilian Orchestra. The original source for the music used comes from sixteen inch discs, released in 1951 called The Glenn Miller Moonlight Serenade Transcriptions, for radio station use only. This is a real collector album, for it not only contains different performancs of tunes perviously issued but also includes three titles which have not appeared on commercial discs before. The CD opens with the title tune for this album Oh, So Good. This is an original riff tune written by Jerry Gray Solos are by Tex Beneke on tenor saxophone, Billy May on trumpet, Maurice Purtill on drumss and Ernie Caceres rides out the tune with some fine clarnet playing. |
