The New Orleans Rhythm Kings' NORK importance lies in the fact that they were the first white band to play out and out jazz largely divorced from the influence of the Original Dixie Jazz Band ODJB. In order to produce this compilation, several years of combing some of the most notable collections in the USA and Europe has brought together what we believe to be the best copies available. We believe this to be the finest quality reissue of the New Orleans Rhythm Kings to date. In the course of researching and sourcing available copies, it became apparent that two previously listed alternate takes, namely 'That's A Plenty' Take B and 'Milenberg Joys' Take A do not, in fact, exist! |
