Description:
Bill O’Connell played with the great Mongo Santamaria, writing and performing with him for over two years. He then worked with Chet Baker and Sonny Rollins with whom he toured extensively. In 1982, he joined Latin jazz flutist Dave Valentin, and they have been touring the world together ever since. O’Connell and Valentin join forces again here in Triple Play, aided by their colleague, percussionist Richie Flores in a unique trio setting for piano, flute and percussion. Together, the three men wring every ounce of color and tone from their respective instruments while producing some of the most heart pounding and musically interesting Latin Jazz ever. |
