Description:
American bandleader George Olsen led one of the most successful 'sweet' orchestras of the mid 20s to 30s, purveying happy music that seemed truly to capture the hedonistic spirit of the Charleston era. "Beyond The Blue Horion" was the George Olsen signatue tune that, typically, he would introduce. These include his million selling version of Kern's Who?, one of the 20s biggest sellers of all. Other 'number ones' were The Last Round Up, Always, At Sundown, A Precious Little Thing Called Love and Lullaby Of The Leaves. 'Number twos' were Sunny, Blue Skies and Horses, while 'number threes' were The Best Things In Life Are Free, The Girl Friend and Someone To Watch Over Me. |
