An example of these is 'Girl Crazy' one of the songs included on this album 'I Got Rhythm', was introduced in the show by Ethel Merman; the pit orchestra contained Red Nichols, Benny Goodman, Jimmy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Jack Teagarden and Gene Krupa. The title not written for musical shows is 'Delishious' this is the result of George and Ira's first colaboration on a film score. These recordings are all contemporary arrangements made when the shows first opened either in London or New York. |
