Description:
Patti Page was the best selling female singer during the 1950s, and in many ways defined the decade of adult pop with hits like “Old Cape Cod” and “Tennessee Waltz.” By singing a wide range of popular material she remained a chart force into the mid ’60s, with the theme to the film Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte, becoming a top ten hit in 1965. By the early 80s she was having renewed success in the country field. Patti was no stranger to country music, having charted 20 singles during the course of her career, when she recorded these country flavored versions of her hits for Plantation Records. The 18 recordings selected for this compilation showcase the best of Patti Page and show why she is considered one of America’s most beloved recording artists. |
