SINGS YOU GO TO MY HEAD / MANHATTAN TOWER | |
Description:
From her earliest years on radio in Tulsa and Chicago appearances with Benny Goodman, Patti Page proved her uncanny ability to not only be able to sing just about everything, but to do it well. At the same time she was turning out hit after hit for Mercury Records, she also began recording a large catalogue of classic standards that were issued throughout the 1950's. These were released in 1955 on the 12" album "You Go To My Head". Her crowning achievement came in 1956, when she recorded one of the most challenging projects ever attempted by a pop singer recording Gordon Jenkins' newly expanded narrative tone poem "Manhattan Tower" all by herself. Both "You Go To My Head" and "Manhattan Tower" albums with bonus tracks have been re mastered and are featured on this CD release. |

You Go To My Head
While A Cigarette Was Burning
I Let A Song Go Out Of My Heart
Deep In A Dream
I Hadn't Anyone Till You
Spring Is Here
I Thought About You
Darn That Dream
I Didn't Know What Time It Was
What's New
I'll Never Smile Again
You Walk By
I've Got It Bad And That Ain't Good
Don't Get Around Much Anymore
Do Nothin' Till You Hear From Me
Under A Blanket Of Blue
New York's My Home
Once Upon A Dream
Learnin' My Latin
Happiness Cocktail
March Marches On
Never Leave Me
Married I Can Always Get
Repeat After Me
Indian Giver
This Close To The Dawn
The Party |
