BLACK EAGLES & GUESTS

WHEN I LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND

Description:
Some more wonderful melodies from the splendidly prolific Irving Berlin played with verve and charm by Bob Pilsbury or Bob Pelland on piano, various members of the Black Eagle Jazz Band and other guests. This outing includes sixteen tunes, twelve of which Berlin composed during the period from 1910 to 1924, when ragtime tinged his music and he contributed significantly to the flamboyantly exciting Broadway revue scene. Particular highlights are the clarinet exchanges between Joe Muranyi, Orange Kellin and Billy Novick and the enticing vocals by Joe Muranyi on Call Me Up Some Rainy Afternoon and Tony Pringle on Some Sunny Day with some of the best Tony cornet ever!
