Description:
Boyd Raeburn returned to the recording studios in 1956 after a four year gap. The orchestra contained Billy Butterfield, Ernie Royal, Charlie Shavers, Hal McKusick, Nat Pierce, Oscar Pettiford and Gus Johnson with George Williams arranging. By 1957 and the 'Teen Rock' album sessions, Stanley Baum was arranging and Milt Hinton and Don Lamond were in the rhythm section. Ginnie Powell is the featured vocalist in this second Montpellier Records release of the swinging mid 1950s Boyd Raeburn Orchestra. A great follow up to Get Out Of Town. |
