This CD contains Reed's early Capitol recordings. The accompanying essay tells the story of a man who became a socialist superstar but was broken in the end because he remained unaccepted by both East and West. A documentary about Dean Reed, 'The Red Elvis,' will premiere at the 'Berlinale' in February 2007. Tom Hanks has bought the film rights and will play the leading part. The director will be Steven Spielberg. The incredible story of an American singer in the former German Democratic Republic. |
