Description:
Tommy Reynolds' band had several phases. Each incarnation produced it's own recordings. Tracks 1 5 here are by the Band Of Tomorrow 1939 1941, inlcuding the original version of "Whispering Grass". Tracks 6 12 are from a 1944 remote broadcast from San Diego. "Smiles" is from one of the music shore films soundies made by the band in the early 1940s. Three "shuffle rhythm" tracks are from 1953. Some superb jazz from 1955 is featured on three tracks and closing this collection is "Sometimes I Wonder" a light pop chorus cut while Tommy led the RKO Studio Orchestra in 1956.
