Description:
26 track compilation presents two stages of Edmundo's musical career. The first 11 titles are from his Parlophone era from 1941 42, with a typical Cuban "conjunto" sound featuring muted trumpet, piano, flute, acoustic guitar and the maestro himself on percussion. The remaining 15 tracks are from his Decca period from 1944 47, representing the band's commercial development with brass and reeds being augmented, and a string section added on occasion. Features vocals by Edmundo, Peggy McCormick, Santiago Lopez, Ronaldo Mazar and others.
