SALTY DOGS JAZZ BAND

CONCERT AT BATTLEGROUND - LIVE

Description:
The Salty Dogs Jazz Band recorded live at the Tippecanoe Memorial Battlefield in Battleground, IN., Summer 1974. To put this in perspective, this group of Salt Dogs had never played together as a unit until the day of the concert. There was no practice, no warmups, nothing. They played tunes that they had all played before. Everyone was so relaxed, like they had played together forever. John Waters had been working on the West Coast. He drove down from Chicago to play with the Salty Dogs. He was the only player who was not an official Salty Dog. The Salty Dogs made him a honorary member. A lot of music was played that day and the people who attended went home happy enjoying the Salty Dogs Jazz Band.
