2 CD set. This double CD brings back an entire radio broadcast, the first anniversary show of the legendary Saturday Night Swing Club. The many performances are often classic. Such musicians as Duke Ellington, harpist Casper Reardon, vibraphonist Adrian Rollini, trumpeter Bunny Bergian, the Raymond Scott Quintet, the Casa Loma Orchestra, pianist Claude Thorhill, the Benny Goodman Trio and Quartet, the guitar duo of Carl Kress and Dick McDonough and an impressive house band are all in excellent form. To use a cliche, it is almost like being there. One can truly feel the excitement of the swing era during this highly recommended release. Material consists of the complete ninety minute First Anniversary program June 12, 1937 & Bunny Berigan Show, October 31, 1936 Swing Club Broadcast No. 18.
