Description:
Whenever Jimmy Smith and Kenny Burrell get together, the subject invariably turns to the blues in all its forms. This album which took place over three sessions is a case in point. They move from burners to sensual slow blues to Ma Rainey’s classic “See See Rider” to Ray Charles’ gospel tinged “I Got A Woman”. The obscure but excellent tenor saxophonist Percy France joins them on five tunes. Five tracks have been added to the original album.
