THE SONS OF THE PIONEERS
CELEBRATED SONS OF THE PIONEERS | |
Description:
The formative sound of Rural music, or Western music as it came to be called, was to submit to a startling new sound created by the Sons of the Pioneers in the 1930s and '40's. The Smokey the Bear recordings featured in this collection were assembled in the mid to late 1950's for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. On these recordings, the trio of Perryman, Doss and Warren, with the instrumental backing of Hugh and Karl Farr, and supported bass players Deuce Spriggens and Shug Fisher, amply demonstrate the classic Pioneer sound. |
