JACK TEAGARDEN
TIME FOR T | |
Description:
The music on this CD comes from 'live' bradcasts, studio recordings and as the band never made any more commercial recordings after 1941, the 1944 items are taken from wartime transcriptins. Jack Teagarden's theme tune was "I've Got A Right To Sing The Blues," and boy, he did just that! Louis Armstrong called him the worlds greatest jazz musician. Tommy Dorsey said of him "I play pretty...Jackson Teagarden plays great." As well as playing the trombone, Jack Teagarden also sang and can be heard on this 22 track CD of music from 1939 1944, giving us renditions of "My Melancholy Baby," and "Baby Won't You Please Come Home," as well as a version of "The Sheik Of Araby" which he sings with Linda Keene other vocalists on this very collectable CD include Marianne Dunne, David Allyn and the lovely Kitty Kallen. |
