Description:
In this the sixth Hep recording with Joe Temperley as a leader we decided to push the envelope a little further with tributes to Harry Carney, Serge Chaloff, Cecil Payne and Gerry Mulligan. But the real departure from this none too original idea was that on five of the tunes Joe would play all the saxophone parts in special arrangements. There have been precedents for this notably the Zoot Sims Impulse recording in the 60s where he played all four saxophone parts.
