CLARK TERRY
THE GLOBETROTTER | |
Description:
This sextet/septet session was originally released in 1977 by Vanguard, and flugelhornist Clark Terry mostly selected musicians from the big band that he occasionally fronted during the mid '70s. Features tenor saxophonist Ernie Wilkins better known as an arranger stretching out as a soloist, and other sidemen include pianist Ronnie Mathews, bassist Victor Sproeles and drummer Ed Soph with guest spots for pianist Walter Bishop and guitarist Roland Prince. It's a particularly strong repertoire with classic ballads such as "Misty" and "Autumn Leaves" alternating with Clark Terry's three colorful originals. |
