Pianist Ethan Uslan's second Rivermont CD features a pleasing mixture of "hot" and "sweet." The program begins with several of Ethan's fiery ragtime arrangements of such standards as "I Found A New Baby," "My Old Kentucky Home," and even a Chopin Nocturne. For the second half of the disc, Ethan settles into an elegant, lush "cocktail" style for such favorites as "Stardust," "Deep Purple," and "I'll Be Seeing You." The selections were recorded in December 2007. |
