Description:
The music on this CD is taken from three sets that took place during the 1992 Atlanta Jazz Party. Although very much a jam session, the swinging music is quite coherent and uncrowded. In addition to clarinetist Vache, the all star group includes Ken Peplowski on clarinet and tenor, vibraphonist John Cocuzzi, pianist Johnny Varro, acoustic guitarist Marty Grosz, bassist Milt Hinton and drummer Brooks Tegler. Together they jam through nine veteran standards, including hot versions of "Old Fashioned Love," "I Want to Be Happy" and an 11 minute rendition of "Nobody's Sweetheart." A strong swing based mainstream set. |
