YOU'RE DRIVING ME CRAZY | |
Description:
You're Driving Me Crazy compiles the best recordings made by American bandleader Rudy Vallee and His Connecticut Yankees between 1929 and 1934. Rudy, known for his catchphrase 'Heigh ho, Everybody, Heigh ho', also enjoyed a parallel career as a screen actor, appearing in films such as Glorifying the American Girl and The Vagabond Lover. From the latter film, Rudy and his band perform on this compilation I Love You, Believe Me, I Love You and I'll Be Reminded of You. The third film Rudy starred in was 1934's Sweet Music, and here he gives a charming rendition of the film's title song. Well known songwriters including Herman Hupfeld As Time Goes By and Let's Put out the Lights and Go to Sleep and Gus Kahn/Walter Donaldson Sleepy Head and You're Driving me Crazy are represented on this compilation; Rudy and his band perform their music with all the elegance and panache associated with the dance band era. |
