Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson was one of the great alto saxophonists who enjoyed huge popularity throughout the 1970's in Europe. His career in fact started decades earlier in the 40's and this album features some of his finest recordings of that period including his mega hit "Cherry Red Blues". In his long and varied career Eddie was one of the major artists on post World War II blues shouting and was highly respected by jazz fans for his playing and tenure with the Cootie Williams band. This is a must have album for any early R & B aficionados.
