VINTAGE TANGO TONIGHT | |
Description:
This CD offers the entire range of tangoistic emotion during 1930 1950, with most tracks 19 coming from the '30s. The CD parades a succession of Latin American and Euro tangos, starting with the classic "A Media Luz from Alfred Hause" and ending with the equally classic "Jealousy" from Sidney Torch. In all, there are seven different nationalities represented, including of course Argentina Francesco Canaro. Among the better known European ensembles are those of Geraldo, Victor Silvester, DajĒs BĪla and Marek Weber. A rarity is the singing of La Cumparsita by opera star Tito Schipa. |
