GUS VISEUR

COMPOSITIONS

Description:
Composer and instrumentist, Gus Viseur is the first stylist of jazz with an accordion. Didier Roussin presents accordionist Gus Viseur in his bal musette role, spicing the old waltz with the accents of gypsy guitarists, and edging his way towards what would become known as the "swing waltz". As this new "Compositions" series is devoted to the works of specific composers, there are other performers on parade here besides Viseur himself : Tony murena and the Colombo brothers. [...] Personally, I prefer the musette Viseur to the swing Viseur, his exciting waltzes remaining eternally fresh and full of unexpected twists and turns.
