BENNIE WALLACE
DISORDER AT THE BORDER | |
Description:
Disorder At The Border is the result of Wallace's enduring love of Coleman Hawkins, and was partly prompted by the Hawkins Centenary in 2004. Wallace admired Coltrane, unlike many saxophonists of his generation, he consciously and delibrately avoided being influenced by his music. Bennie was always into the pre Coltrane era and its central giant Hawkins his music was what we mostly listened to. And so of course I'm very happy now that Bennie's tribute to the master is finally seeing the light the day. |
