First time on CD for these albums from 1974 and 1975 from jazz trombonist Bill Watrous. These are the one two Big Band albums he recorded in the '70s. This CD, is the Manhattan Wildlife Refuges' second coming. It has more color changes; it is more adventurous in its uptempo offerings. The feeling is that the musicians were more comfortable, looser, more familiar with the music at this outing. This may just be the best new big band around. |
