Big band leader Si Zentner graduated from the brass section of the Harry James and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras. Aside from leading, Zentner was also an important sessionman; his fine trombone playing can be heard accompanying stars such as Frank Sinatra, Mel Gorme, and Nat King Cole. These two albums, originally released by Imperial in the early '60s, feature fully orchestral and full bodied renditions of some of the most popular songs of the day. |
